The date was April 2, 2019. A seemingly normal headache and back pain were agonizing my father in our hometown, Estancia. As brawny as he is, he ignored those symptoms believing that they were mere signs of his not so young (but still young) age, 48. Night time struck and while peeing, he just collapsed and showed like a hint of seizure, showing only the sclera of the eyes, and lost his consciousness. Fortunately, my mom was just nearby and immediately caught my father into her arms and prevented any trauma in the head. He woke up after a few minutes not knowing what happened while the ambulance is already on the way to our house. They immediately brought him to a nearby district hospital for any necessary first aid. He was given pain relievers because after what happened, according to him, he has this sharp pain on his back, shoulders, and head, making it hard for him to walk. Since our local hospital does not have the necessary equipment to test him, he was subsequently rushed to Iloilo City. He is then admitted in the hospital the next day. All the needed checking and testing were administered to him and the prognosis of the doctors were Musculoskeletal Spasm while his brain swelled and traces of blood were found inside his skull. Withing the duration of April 3 - 7, he experienced some seizures. On April 9, dawn broke and it seems that the worst was over since he is already scheduled for rehab, however, on that night, he had this seizure again which was a little bit longer than his past attacks. After that lone seizure, he fell into coma already and was not able to regain his consciousness. As of this writing (April 25), he is still in the same state. Doctors are still trying to figure out until now what is the root cause of all of this because it was so instantaneous. Doctors already took some fluid samples from his head but it seems that his brain is already clouded with blood and the swelling does not get any better. We are also waiting for the results from Manila for any bacterial or fungal infection that he might have acquired. All of us are baffled why this happened to him knowing that he has a healthy lifestyle. Doctors could still not confirm if it was Aneurysm because of the presence of the blood nor affirm if it was Bacterial Meningitis. At one time, the doctors gave us two options already: first is to stop all the medicine and let the natural effects take place (which is another way of saying death) and second is to push through with the medication and hope for a miracle. Seeing my mom hear this definitely shuttered my heart. Of course, we chose to push through and fight with him. They also advised us that the human body could only take so much medicine and chemical before his body would eventually give up on him. Considering those options, yes, they have the same result, but we choose to take that tiny speck of a chance - that chance to have him longer in our arms.

I am making this gogetfunding because my family and I would like to ask and appeal to your good heart to help us financially. In almost a month of my father's admittance, the bill is rising quickly. The hospital bill is already nearing Php 800,000 and almost all of our resources are already exhausted to the last centavo. We still want to fight for him, and we humbly ask for your help. In the event that you have no extra to spare, we perfectly understand and would just ask for you to share this fundraising for my father. All kinds of help count: your financial assistance, hitting the share button, spreading the word of mouth, prayers, and emotional support. We are here to face this head on for him and we thank you for being a part of this fight.
