We aim to buy 15 bunk beds at £116 each

15 bunk beds will cost £1,740 so this is our minimum target. However, 15 beds is not enough to accommodate all of the long term residents of the safe house in Butiama, about 40 girls, so we ask that if it within your means to give more that you be as generous as you can.

The money we raise here will go straight to Hope for Girls, a Tanzanian charity that enables outreach work against Female Genital Mutilation and Child Marriage by local activists like Rhobi Samwelly, herself an FGM survivor. Survivors often flee their home situations or are bought by police to the safe houses, where they can safely receive education and vocational training. The girls stay in these safe houses for a year or more, where they sleep on shared mattresses. When our team visited one of these safe houses, Rhobi mentioned that she hoped one day someone would be generous enough to buy the girls bunk beds, and this is our aim.

Fundraising at Spring Harvest 2019

Update posted by Emma Pead at 08:08 pm

A small group of friends and I were blessed with the opportunity to fundraise at Spring Harvest 2019, we decided the best way to do this would be to do "the Macarena" dance, the same dance we taught the girls at Hope For Girls during our visit. Thanks to the
