I am a passionate law student and human rights youth advocate who works for the cause of providing a good quality education to every child in my community. I believe in the power of education as a way to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor and push for on the ground work as the best way forward. This could be teaching students in the community, volunteering at a community NGO that engages in such activities or even starting a college network to help children from less privileged communities get access to a good quality education. Let me tell you a little bit more about some of the highlighted areas of my work.

I have been a volunteer at an NGO known as Santhi Medical Information Centre, under Ms. Uma Preman, who works extensively under the Tribal Welfare Project at Attapadi (a tribal village belt in Kerala). As a part of my work, I have been conducting English, Mathematics, Legal Awareness and Health and Sanitation classes for tribal children and women across this belt. During my time here, I have interacted with individuals who suffer from various issues, including mental health problems. My aim is to continue teaching these tribes so that they can become self-sufficient in the future. For more information, please visit http://www.santhimedicalinfo.org/.

I am also a volunteer at an NGO in Kochi called Guardians of dreams. At present, I am the Marketing Fellow of the city and as a part of my work, I help organize charity events to raise funds for the children at our shelter homes in order to fund their education and give them scholarships to pursue their dreams. For more information, please visit https://godreams.org/.

Apart from this, I am also a mentor and volunteer at the IDIA (Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access) network across all National Law Schools. We work to spread awareness about making law schools more adaptable for the differently-abled and raise funds for the cause. I am a legal aptitude mentor and organise regular classes for my students to help them crack the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and get admission in a National Law School. For more information, please visit https://idialaw.com/

I am also a member of the Legal Aid clinic at my college where we visit families in and around the community and take legal aid to their doorstep. Post the Kerala Floods, we conducted a large scale mapping exercise to help the flood affected victims get access to legal authorities and have their socio-legal problems addressed.

It is with this interest that I applied for the 7th Annual South Asia Human Rights Summit at Nepal. My application has been selected and I have been given the opportunity to represent the Indian delegation. At this conference, I will have an opportunity to interact with several word leaders and activists and voice my views on my area of interest - the 4th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of the UN, namely, working for a Quality Education for all. I will also be given the chance to interact with like-minded individuals from across the world, and brainstorm with them about possible solutions to tackle this problem that I can then bring back and implement in my own community.

Unfortunately, the scholarships/financial aid offered for this Summit are no longer available. I am a University student and I lack the sufficient financial support to meet my expenses. I have never had the opportunity to attend such an event in the past and would be most grateful if you could help me, by contributing any small amount to the cause. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I really do not wish to miss. With the knowledge and skills I acquire at this Summit, I will be better equipped to return and develop a model that I can implement in my community and work.

Thanks! Here's to always working towards educating our future generations!
