Pumba & Nala are 2 beautiful souls (pups) their journey has already been intense starting life in very difficult circumstances in India they now have the opportunity to have a forever home in the UK.

They have survived without their mum from a few days old, and against all odds have started to emerge as well balanced growing pups with great characters!

Despite looking for adopters for their forever home it seems is not in India.. with so many pups needing rehoming, so much neglect & cruelty as well as living on the busy streets, at the very least it is a relentless task to seek people to take on this role.

I have been working as a volunteer at a local animal charity in Goa and because of the constant feeding every 2 hours (as they are without mum) I fostered these babies early on to help get them strong - they were with me for several months, I came close to losing them both at different times to Parvo (a dreadful virus with no cure), and a few other hiccups to get them healthy..

This was all dealt with Indian style.. often in emergency whisking them in a cat basket (I had) on a moped to the vet.. it was touch and go a few times.. something I don't want to repeat.. and so it is so amazing to say they are now shining bright, house trained and ready to enjoy life..

BUT..

.. without anyone coming forward and I had to leave, after much reasearch I decided that whilst I can't help every puppy, I can do my bit for these 2!

I have so far paid for all their care, food, vaccines and more.. which I am happy & able to do but I do need help now.. (not words I often use.. this is a lesson and they have already taught me much)..

The cost to bring them back alters slightly dependent on size of pups at time to travel and flights but the amount shown will cover it.. I can do it with this.. by funding we can collectively do something to change the lives for these two souls.

I will start the long journey now of paperwork, injections, pet passport, travel crates (good ones!), flights (which weirdly is mimimal), health certificate and more! I can do all of this, I am prepared, researched and have support to do so.. I just can't afford to pay all the costs.

It will possibly required me to return to India in May/June to collect them (which of course I will pay for).

Once in the UK they will be with me to settle into UK life.. I have a few people interested in adopting them.. so we will go with it to ensure the best home is found and their needs met - if not they have their life with me & my family guaranteed.

So although I have always collected items of clothing and resources for childrens, animal charities, natural disasters & homeless - I have never asked for anything like this or money.. but this is not just a personal quest it feels the right thing to do.. it eases a little pressure here for new homes and whilst there are many animals also in the UK that needs help this is a unique situation to me.. I have adopted also in the UK and given forever homes but in India it is a harsh reality for survival.

Many people on my social media have followed the pups journey with me which has raised interest in their well being.

So please if you can donate.. any amount I will, as will Pumba & Nala be eternally grateful.

I will of course keep all receipts and log all expenses to make sure that everyone that donated can get to see the journey and where the money has been spent.

UPDATE..

Since the 1st initial post both have been through all required tests and vaccinations, they have been neutered (Nala having 2 ops and taking 5 weeks for healing due to complications but now fit and healthy).

They have endured love and care from many but also been up against the general harsh reality everyday of non dog people! (This is an understatement to what goes on just walking a dog.. but non need to give exact details as its tough to digest for most).

The adopters have pulled out.. which would always from the begining be a consideration as some want to do good but cant always follow through, so I had awareness that this could happen but in no way affects the decision to 'save' these pups.. it does however mean that my life has to alter to give them the home that is promised.. I accept everything happens for a reason and so it is!

This is not by any means easy but in no way affects the decision on keeping them if needed.. it is just the logistics and immediate support from you all to do so.

I am open to offer my intutive sessions in exchange for donations for the pups and open to any fund raising however time is running out to do this smoothly!

I do hope to be able to bring the pups to meet all that have supported them once in the UK and they themselves will show you their appriciation.

Namaste

We passed!! Results are good.. 🙃😊

Update posted by Tracee Cullen at 10:35 pm

So it is with the greatest pleasure I say.. today the pups blood results passed the required EU testing.. (Ironic it was the day we were meant to leave)!!This is the biggest hurdle.. why we had endless visits to the vets and vaccines so precise as the titer test has. . . . .
