Please help me and my wife with her battle against Leukemia (AML). Additional funds are needed for her to start treatment, and cover increasing hospital bills.

Hello all, I am Williamson Bensan, 33, and husband to a lovely, beautiful lady by the name of Marijoy.

We got married almost two years ago, with grand plans to travel the world and finally start a family by the advent of our second year.

Married life is a bliss; both of us works in the same company, and is never far from each other.. We fit so perfectly that our story could have been drafted as a romance novel.

A few weeks before 2019 begun, Marijoy (Joy to dear ones) started having symptoms: unexplained bruises, pallor, dizziness, on-off fever, and finally, excessive menstrual bleeding.

On December 17th, I rushed Joy to the ER and she was immediately admitted as soon as the lab results came in.

She has alarmingly high WBC (280 vs 10), with very low hemoglobin (6 vs 12) and platelet (50 vs 150) counts.. she also has a very swollen spleen, which I was then told, are indicators of Leukemia.

Since then, she's been in the hospital bed, while her health continue to decline.

We found out that her organs (lungs, kidneys, liver, heart) are in the brink of shutting down due to suspected Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) that may have already lapsed to Blast Crisis (edit: BMA results came in with final diagnosis of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). She also developed Pneumonia due to compromised immune system.

I didn't understand since she never showed any signs during the 8 years we've known each other.. Neither have I ever seen her sick. In fact, I always compliment her for having the stamina of a horse.

So far, we've stayed 23 days in the hospital and spent all our savings, just to battle the complications alone.

On Jan 6, she is just well enough to get her Bone Marrow Aspirate extracted, and now just waiting the results for her therapy to begin.

The doctor tells us to prepare for the treatment, which will cost no less than $10,000 (₱500,000), given no transplant is needed..

On top of that, she would also need immunoglobulins (80g worth) that costs a staggering $2,200 (₱120,000) per shot. And she needs her first dose ASAP, to get her immune system up.

Doctors can not start therapy until her body is stable to fight the cancer medicine's adverse side effects.

I'm reaching out to the web community for support to gather additional funds to start her medication.

I still dream that we will have a long future together, and with your help, Joy and I can definitely put those dreams to reality.
