Campaign Story
Dear friends,
I am asking for your help I am trying to raise funds for my dad's medical bills. Domingo Dy, age 59. A few laboratories/examinations were done such as blood tests, sputum and chest X-ray. And after getting the results, he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosis, hospitalized at Fatima University Medical Center since June 15, 2017. Suffering from difficulty of breathing, backache and non stop coughing with blood. After he was hospitalized he is in home medication but in the course of taking the prescribed medications that was given to him by his doctor, he felt that he was not feeling any better. Moreover, he felt that he was feeling a lot worse. It caused him allergic reactions, his face swell and his neck was like he has a goiter. The Doctor had to stop the TB medication. He underwent CT scan twice and diagnosed with SUPERIOR VENA CAVA SYNDROME (SVCS)
*****SVCS is obstruction of blood flow through the superior vena cava (SVC). It is a medical emergency and most often manifests in patients with a malignant disease process within the thorax. A patient with SVCS requires immediate diagnostic evaluation and therapy. Characteristic features are edema (swelling due to excess fluid) of the face and arms and development of swollen collateral veins on the front of the chest wall. Shortness of breath and coughing are quite common symptoms; difficulty swallowing is reported in 11% of cases, headache in 6% and stridor (a high-pitched wheeze) in 4%. The condition is rarely life-threatening, though edema of the epiglottis can make breathing difficult, and edema of the brain can cause reduced alertness, and in less than 5% of cases of SVCO, severe neurological symptoms or airway compromise are reported******
We then, transferred him to Quezon City General Hospital because we cannot cover the cost of all the life-saving treatment and medicines. But the Doctor advised us to transfer him at Lung Center of the Philippines because of his diagnosis. Currently he's in service ward 700/day and scheduled for radiotherapy.
My Dad was an OFW, he chose to spend his whole life working abroad just to provide our daily needs, a very responsible and loving parent. He always puts his family first before himself and he has done everything for us. When we found out about his terminal illness, we wanted to do all that we can to help him overcome it.
My salary will never be sufficient to fund my father's medical bills. I am also spending for my family’s needs for I am the breadwinner.
So I am knocking on your heart any amount will be greatly appreciated.
God bless everyone!
