Their using it for more than a hat rack!

The "shop" per say, isn't one quite yet. I have a small shop now but it's been neglected for a few months before my family and I bought the new property. As the development of local farms and personal properties moves forward, there are many trees, and old worn down barns that are destroyed in the path of others progress. If you've ever had to repair a barbed wire fence, skirting a patch of timber, you know what it's like fighting all the thorn bushes and low limbs of nearby trees. Most commonly the Eastern Red Cedar is one that gets the ax, or saw around my local area. There are alot of local farmers like my uncle who benefit from using the bigger trees as fence post for that fence in which they are cut. This helps in costs, others pile them up for burning or just plain left to rot. They do help sustain a small wildlife refuge if left like this, but this type of cedar has an incredible ability to resist rot," hence the posts". What I am doing is giving these farms the option of less debris piled around the farm. I will offer my hand at the labor of cutting and removing the problematic trees,for them, for the sole purpose of obtaining the wood. The same goes for the old barns that are beyond repair and need taken down, just to gain access of the materials. Now I know not everyone gets to play in the woods right? It is a shame, but true. That's why I decided to go into a little side work, simply to take the wood from those locations and repurpose it into small and stylish pieces of decor or anything else you may want. I am also going to offer up a small variety of supplies that I will prepare but leave almost "raw", for the new crafter or woodworker to obtain at a very cheap price and be able to create something the want, have seen, or just want to try and create on their own. The prices are very cheap in regard to the potential value or outcome of any custom piece that someone may create. I am not trying to get rich overnight, that's a fantasy anyone who has drive and creativity tires to achieve. I am basically making what it might cost me to obtain, treat, and ultimately ship to fellow workers and crafters. In return, I get to meet and learn new people and things. This also will help any aspiring crafters get the supplies they desire from good hardworking people that are also advancing themselves. As for the small crafts; I'm open to ideas for anything you might have in mind, that you would like to purchase at a fair price. Not everyone can afford custom designer furniture, that is hand made with their interests in mind. They will be custom to our best abilities as craftsman. If it's something as subtle as a loved ones name, framed in old barn wood, or a small craft they would like to try and create from offered materials. My main goal is to use what otherwise would be left too decay over time, to bring the warmth and charm of the Ozarks to those who wish to feel and

experience it. I just can't afford to do it all by myself, in the financial means. That is why I am not making much if anything from this. Plus not everyone gets the chance to see, smell and feel the beauty of wood before it is taken to mill. I hope to build up my shop just here in the beginning, and ultimately " cover" the costs of helping those who can't get their land cleaned up and my costs of which are fairly small on average. Things like fuel, maintenance of tools, and supplies needed to preserve the green woods.
