Help me get Street Culture 2.0 into the hands of every Runaway and Homeless Youth Agency in the nation!

For years, Street Culture: An epistemology of street-dependent youth has been an invaluable resource for agencies serving runaway and homeless youth. The information, tips, and techniques contained in Street Culture helps staff by giving them a greater understanding of the work they are doing, and it helps young people by exposing them to staff who have a greater understanding. Now that it has been recently released in an updated version titled Street Culture 2.0, I want to make it available to every Basic Center, Transitional Living Program, and Street Outreach Program in the United States and the District of Columbia. That's 340 agencies around the country.

Street Culture 2.0 retails on Amazon.com for $29.95, plus shipping. Through the Street Culture Donation Project, though, I am able to send each of the 340 agencies their own free copy at a cost to me of only $9.95, or a total of $3,383.00.

I'm asking for your support towards this goal. Donations of any size are gratefully accepted, and everytime donations hit $9.95, I will ship a free copy of Street Culture 2.0 to one of the 340 Runaway and Homeless Youth programs across the nation until each and every one of them has a copy for their use. Please help if you can, and watch for updates as I post information about the agencies receiving their copy of Street Culture 2.0.

With great appreciation,

Jerry Fest

Update 2/10/14

Update posted by Jerry Fest at 02:01 pm

The generous donations received so far are enough to provide books to 34 agencies. All of the recipients have been contacted, and I am shipping books as soon as I receive mailing addresses and “attention to” information from the contacted agencies. Books are on their way to the 7 agencies. . . . .

In less than a day, we've raised $245.00 towards the goal of sending every Basic Center, Transitional Living, and Street Outreach Program a free copy of Street Culture 2.0. That's just under 25 of the 340 targeted agencies. I need to wait until funds are transferred to begin shipping, which

  • Yay! I was just thinking about your book and how I need a copy for a new queer homeless youth program here in Atlanta. Such important information in this book. Thank you for your effort to reach out to all these agencies.
