Kiyumbakimu Childeren's Village (KCV) is placed in the countryside outside Masaka, Uganda. KCV is a Community Based Organization (CBO) that provides full care and a secure upbringing for orphaned and vulnerable children living in the villages around the rural area of Kiyumbakimu.

At KCV we are working towards establishing an economically self-sufficient and sustainable organization, providing hope for orphaned children by creating new families with strong and positive Ugandan maternal and paternal figures, health care (particularly attending to those with HIV/AIDS) and education, to give the kids the best start in life. KCV also has a community outreach program, where we run a free nursery school for three to six year-olds, provide poor kids from nine and above with sponsors to cover school fees and act as general aid organ for the vulnerable children in the local community.

Currently we have: thirteen children from seven to seventeen years old living at the children’s village; seven kids who live at home with sponsors that cover school fees and sixteen children from three to six years old in the KCV nursery school. At the moment we’re looking for sponsors for five of the kids living at KCV: Aisha 12 yrs., Obed 11 yrs, Nulu 11 yrs., Fadi 10 yrs. and Ibra 7 yrs. For 20€ / $30 / 150 DKK a month its possible provide one of these children with food, schooling and health care all the way through high school. Please contact us on our facebook page for additional information if you’re interested in becoming a sponsor.

Beside sponsors issues, are we at the moment facing other challenges. Eastern Uganda is currently in the middle of a food crisis because of a severe draught that has caused a food shortage in the region. Food prices have increased tremendously and KCV’s food budget is no longer sufficient. Our primary concern is therefore to raise funds for food. Beside the issue of food we’re also struggling to raise funds for school supplies, like school uniforms, school shoes, books, paper, pens, pencils, mathematical sets, calculators.

In the long run we’re also working towards making the children’s village sustainable and self- sufficient. The goal is for KCV to become a sustainable farm, where we’ll grow vegetables/maze/beans, raise chickens/pigs/rabbits for food, cows/goats for milk and sell the excess at the local market. To make these plans a reality we’re also looking for funds to: educate the local staff on sustainable farming and raising animals, buying animal, leasing land for crops, buy seeds and a vehicle for transporting crops to the local market. Secondly we want to keep our children safe and are therefore also looking to raise money for a fence around the village.

Any donation to the KCV program straight to the children of KCV, any help will ease our situation and be greatly appreciated.
