My name is Gary Rider, I live in Mooresville, NC after moving here from New York. I am longtime friends with the Schmidt Family (Nicki, Mother & Jimmy, Stepfather) I am also acquainted with and know Gabby’s Dad, Joe. I have watched Gabby grow up and I consider her and the Schmidt family an extension of my own family.

I started this fundraiser with the family’s permission to raise money to cover any and all expenses related to the investigation and search so that we may bring Gabby home. Monies raised will be used to pay for travel, lodging, rental cars, and expenses related directly to search efforts and to cover any additional resources that the family may need at this time. Any unused funds will be donated to a charity of the family choosing upon completion of our stated goal.
