Na ons studio-avontuur hebben we even flink bijgeslapen, en daarna was het wachten op de eerste voorlopige mix…! Toen we dat langverwachte mailtje uit België kregen, lieten we meteen alles uit onze handen vallen om ernaar te kunnen luisteren. Daar was dan het bewijs van ons harde ploeteren tijdens die studioweek, en het eerste resultaat was al veelbelovend! Nu zijn we hard bezig met het verzamelen van al onze feedback (en het tot een leesbaar, begrijpelijk documentje maken, want dat valt nog niet mee) zodat Philip en Roderik daar weer verder mee aan de slag kunnen.

Hoewel de muziek natuurlijk prioriteit heeft, staan er ondertussen nog allerlei andere taken op het programma. Zoals het verzinnen van een albumtitel, het vormgeven van alle merchandise en het plannen van een CD-release. Na de roes van de studio zijn we begonnen om al deze dingen overzichtelijk op een lijst te zetten en te bepalen wat er wanneer moet gebeuren. Helaas is veel van dit achter-de-schermen werk voorlopig nog Top Secret, dus kunnen we jullie niet veel inhoudelijks laten zien, maar we zullen wel zorgen dat we binnenkort een van die beloofde livestreams doen!

Meer nieuws: op 28 december spelen we op het ‘Folk voor 555’ event in Hilversum! Er wordt 24 uur lang muziek gemaakt (sessies, optredens, ceilidhs) en de gehele winst gaat naar Giro 555, om zo de slachtoffers van de tsunami in Sulawesi te helpen.

After our studio adventure we spent some time catching up on sleep, and then it was a matter of waiting for the initial mix! When that long awaited email from Belgium arrived, we immediately dropped everything to listen to it. There it was: proof of all our efforts during that studio week, and the first result sounds promising already! We're now working to collect all our feedback (and making it into a legible, understandable document, which is harder than it seems) so that Philip and Roderik can continue from there.

While the music is of course our top priority, there's many other tasks ahead of us. Like coming up with an album title, designing all the merchandise and planning a CD release. While the studio high is slowly wearing off, we've started putting all these tasks on a comprehensible list and deciding what needs to happen when. Unfortunately, much of this behind-the-scenes work is still Top Secret for the time being, so we can't show you anything substantial, but we'll make sure we'll host one of those livestreams we promised soon!

More news: on december 28 we'll be playing at the 'Folk for 555' event in Hilversum (NL)! It'll be 24 hours of music (sessions, performances, ceilidhs) and the full proceeds go to Giro 555, to help the victims of the tsunami in Sulawesi.
