Soirée to present our Campaign

Update posted by Sharlene Halbert

On Saturday evening, 13th January, the Hot Chili Chicas launched their campaign to the public with a soirée with drinks and some amazing pica-pica (demonstrating that not only will we be able to drive across Southern Africa, but that we are pretty good in the kitchen too so eating well shouldn't be a problem on our trip - thanks Julia Fossi for the research on awesome tapas!) The wonderful people who came (about 25 in total) reportedly enjoyed the soirée during which Karen Holladay shared about Put Foot, the rally and the Foundation and the important reasons we are fundraising for school shoes in Africa, and the awesome Erica Vilanueva spontaneously filled in for the unfortunate spokesperson for AADAS, who came down with the flu, to talk about the other NGO we are supporting with our rally - an incredible group who are providing services, including psychological and legal support to women and children who are affected by sexual abuse. Due to cuts in government funds since the beginning of the crisis, the much needed legal support can no longer be provided and we are committed to helping them find the money to ensure this essential part of the support for sexual abuse victims is restored. We have some fun and awesome fundraising activities coming up - check out our Facebook Page - Hot Chili Chicas Go on PutFoot and our Instagram account Hot Chili Chicas to keep updated. Anyone wishing to lend their support to our fundraising efforts, please contact us on our FB Page or Instagram account! NOW, you can donate here and help us reach our target of 22,000 Euro!
