Campaign Story
I am a figurative sculptor who makes life-size dancers and acrobats of wire netting, shining light through them to create environments of shadows. I enjoy creating inspiring and mysterious spaces that give viewers a fresh perspective of themselves and their world.
My artworks have taken on new meaning since Covid 19. Bellingham is fairly typical in experiencing more empty storefronts due to businesses closing their doors from the Pandemic. This month I am using one of these storefronts to create a "pop-up gallery" that can be viewed from outside, through the windows.
I am creating a lighted installation of five life-size figures sculpted of wire netting. This will provide an environment for three dancers from Western Washington University to explore movement in relation to the sculptures. Two videographers will film them, and hopefully we will project the footage into the environment to create a layering effect of imagery.
I plan to raise $1200 to give honoraria to the dancers and filmmakers for the generous gift of their time and skills to make this project happen.
Rewards
A personal studio visit to see the sculptor's work. Your name and donor thank you will be posted on the sculptor's website. Your name will be included in the acknowledgement signage at the Autumn 2021 exhibition called "Go Figure," at the San Juan Islands Museum of Art, where this sculpture installation and video footage will be shown.

Happy Birthday Francie! The Project is 'so very you'! The dancer in the video is so lovely. I'm sending you a lot of love (and a little bit of money.!)
