Campaign Story
In 2018 Dyson staff in SEA are out to make a difference to the local and international community. Your kind donations will be matched by the James Dyson Foundation to launch targeted projects to deliver charitable aid and services to some of the most desperate and often overlooked causes. Funds raised will be in support of our nominated charity; the Viva Foundation, for children with cancer (http://www.viva.sg/).
Amongst others, our leading projects include:
• Peru Jungle Ultra 2018: In June this year, Sean Budden (President of STC Forward Dyson) took part in the Peru Jungle Ultra. A 230km footrace in the Amazon Rainforest, carrying all food and equipment for 5 days. It is hoped that this endeavour will help highlight the importance of global sustainability and maintenance of our wild eco systems. [Donated funds go to charity, not the running cost of the race]
READ THE DAILY RACE REPORTS: Visit the Beyond The Ultimate site to access the race reports and find out what Sean went through to finish in second place! |
• Charity rally tour: A team of Dyson volunteers will complete a road trip from Singapore to Malacca via Johor Bahru. Along the way we will stop to deliver aid and raise morale at a children cancer ward, help to educate orphans and feed the needy and homeless.
• Charity expedition: We intend to send a team to a remote region in SEA to assist communities in need within the countries where Dyson operates. In doing this we hope to bring Dyson ingenuity and engineering expertise to some of the world’s most chronic problems. [Donated funds will go towards the charity projects only, not the expedition costs]
• Coastal clean-up: Dyson volunteers have already completed their first clean-up event, removing over 150kg of plastic and general waste from the local coast while educating the community on the importance of proper waste disposal and recycling. Many more similar events will follow!
These projects will not only help the people we directly reach but also set a standard for the future of Forward Dyson and hopefully any other companies or people who are influenced by our campaign. Your support will change the lives of thousands of people and have a lasting impact for generations.
Thank you
