Fort Royal Primary School is located in Worcester, West Midlands. The school is for children with severe learning difficulties who need a more interactive way of learning. Fort Royal provides a happy, safe and colourful environment for the children, who I have met, and they were all full of smiles and excitement.
The school needs extra funding in order to be able to provide top of the range equipment and to create such a wonderful environment for the children. Apparatus such as harness' around the classrooms to move those in wheelchairs. Specialised equipment that costs thousands of pounds for those who are paralyzed. They are currently completing the outdoor area of the school to connect the children with nature, and a space to be outside of the classroom. A wheelchair accessbile play area was completed recently, costing a huge amount of the charities budget, but bringing joy to all. All the equipment they need provides a better life for these children.
Me and my colleague have created a football event with a twist. We want our footballers dressed in costumes of childrens famous book and film characters so on the day the children can recognise this and make it more visually exciting. We will have other activities such as face painting, cake sales, and a penalty shoot out everyone can get involved with. We also have a raffle with loads of fantastic prizes to give away such as Worcester FC match tickets and our luxury adult and children's hampers! We also have a 'guess the name of the teddy' competition and 'how many sweets are in the jar' competition! We want the whole community involved, the more people that are aware of this incredible charity the better! We need as much money as possible for Fort Royal in order for their amazing work to continue! (Registered Charity Number: 504033)
