#ANNIEdYourHelp: Help Nanay Annie Fight Against Colon Disease

This is a fundraising campaign for Nanay Annie Esguerra, the mother of our fellow youth environmental and human rights advocate Jinky Esguerra. She has been diagnosed with recurrent complications in the colon.

Back in March 2020, she started to experience diarrhea, blood in the stool, and occassional abdominal pain. Due to the unavailability of gastro/IM doctors in the hospitals near our area, she did not receive the appropriate and immediate treatment which allowed the symptoms to go on for months.

She underwent an operation last August 8, 2020 which removed the obstruction, about the size of a baseball, from her colon. She was later discharged from the hospital.

However, a few days after her discharge, she started to vomit a dark yellow to a green-colored fluid. It went on for days, so we decided to return to hospital and was advised that she neeeded another operation.

Her second operation happened last August 28, 2020 and she is still under observation. Their hospital bills ballooned to P205,753 (as of August 29, 2020). Hospital bill is approximately P10,000 per day, and their date of release is also indefinite.

Jinky, with her work, has been fighting for the environment ever since she graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She has participated in different international dialogue and made sure that our concerns about Mother Earth are being heard globally. Now, it's about time that we help her mother, who gave her the world, to fight this battle.
