Greetings! My name is Natasha and I just want to give you a little bit about me, and about Karen, who this fundraiser is for. This past summer, I was lucky enough to volunteer in Mombasa, Kenya, in East Africa. While there, I met this beautiful, intelligent, smart young woman, who was there for me as a program mentor every step of the way. During my time, I began to get to know Karen and her story. Karen has not had the easiest upbringing. She has endured vast trauma in her childhood and throughout her adolescence. However, Karen persevered through her adversities. Karen has struggled with her mental health but is strong. She has worked her entire life and has even been paying to send her younger sister to school. Recently, Karen called me and was so excited to announce that she has been accepted into a medical program in Mombasa. This is such a big opportunity for her but she wasn't even thinking about taking it because she just can't afford too. This is when I realized I wanted to help support Karen and her dreams because I know she is made for greatness.

This is Karen...

“Hi! My name is Karen. I am a medical student living in Mombasa, Kenya and am asking for your support in paying my Medical School Tuition Fees. I was accepted to The Kenya Medical Training College to pursue a medical career back in 2021 but I was unfortunately unable to enroll due to the high tuition fees. So I deferred my studies for a year to work and raise funds for school. So far, I have been able to raise enough funds to cover a portion of the tuition, purchase the required textbooks and cover additional expenses as well. However, a potion of the fees (3,000 usd) remains to be paid. Please assist me in achieving my dream of not only becoming the first doctor in my family, but also of serving my community as a medical officer. Any amount raised in support of this dream will be greatly appreciated! “
