Help Mary Frances Fight the Repercussions of Cancer

Update posted by Dawn Faust On Sep 05, 2019

Mary Frances finished 3 months of triple chemo treatments on July 25 with flying colors. MRI tests results on August 14 showed a significant reduction in cancer. Because inflammatory cancer isn't indicated by a tumor, it can only be measured by the reduction of the inflammatory ducts which showed an impressive 67% reduction at the time. Furthermore, the Petscan came back with NO, yes, that's NO indication of cancer in the breast and lymph nodes.

Note that this doesn't mean there is any cancer as it is in the actual tissue and can be at the microscopic level, however, this is very positive results to date.

A full mastectomy, axillary lymphadenectomy and port-a-cath removal on September 3, and she is currently recovering. Drainage tubes are in place and follow up appointments set for later this month. A pathology report will be available 5-7 days from now and will indicate remaining cancer cells and dictate the radiation treatment.

She continuous to keep a great attitude and is surpasses all statistics normally associated with this type of breast cancer. Doctors, family, friends, and especially Mary Frances are positive and happy thus far.

Here is Mary Frances day after surgery, leaving with her brother Rick by her side. Rick has been her rock during this journey – opening his home to her so he and his wife Linda could care for her, talking with doctors on medical terms that only he could understand, taking her to appointments and surgery, helping with finances, being there 24/7 every step of the way, he and Linda are truly blessings in her life.

This is a plaque that Mary Frances wakes up to every day and she wanted to pass this along to everyone as a reminder. Live in the Moment - every breath is precious.

Glad these platforms exist now to help those in need. My mom only barely won her fight with an aggressive breast cancer, without the support of our entire family and friends, I’m not so sure we would have had the resources to win. Happy to support those in their fight.
