For Xmas we lost everything due to an accident

Family home is foreclosing.

On Friday, November 13th Robert was involved in an accident which required two ambulance trips.
The rural hospital was not equipped to deal with his injuries so he was transferred to Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

This ambulance ride alone was billed at $1400.00. He will be faced with 6 months of Physio-therapy.

The government was kind enough to cover the cost of his assistance devices in the home.

The surgery went well however Robert is now facing the inability to drive and 12 weeks without the ability to walk. It will be several months before he will be well enough to return to light duties at work. Total healing time is expected to be 1 year.

Robert's wife was recovering from ankle surgery at the time of the accident and therefore was out of work. She has a remaining 4 weeks in cast, then her own Physio-therapy.

She is caring for him at home, regardless of her own lack of mobility, without the assistance of home support since there was no programs available despite the efforts of the hospital to secure aid.

Due to the state of the economy Robert had already been out of work for several weeks. The family sold many of the household furnishings. Unfortunately, bankruptcy has become the only option.

Robert had been accepted to trade school in Saskatoon but now is unable to afford the cost, as well as the relocation required in order to attend full-time.

While there is much embarrassment and bruising of pride in admitting to needing help, the reality is he is facing now requires hiring household packers and movers, gathering the monies to secure an apartment rental,
atop the medical expenses and now legal fees.
