Typhoon Ursula hit Occidental Mindoro on Christmas Day. It was the second typhoon to hit the region this month, leaving destruction in its wake. Both crops and electricity posts were flattened, leaving many of the people here homeless, without electricity and without means of supporting themselves. We are trying to raise money to provide those most in need with shelter, food and clothing, and over the coming days make their lives as close to what they used to be before the disaster struck.
Who are we:
We're a local family running a small business and lucky enough to have a house that withstood the typhoon with practically no damage. We already handed out 200 kilograms of rice and hundreds of breads, canned foods and instant meals in one of the many affected villages, but sadly that is not nearly enough.
Any amount helps. For as little as US$2 we can buy enough food to feed a family for a day. For only US$7 we can buy enough supplies to put a roof on a house that lost one in the typhoon.
Let's work together to get the community back on its feet by New Year's Day!
