For the Love of Milo

On October 15, just five days before his seventh birthday Milo's parents rushed him to the ER with what seemed to be type 1 diabetes symptoms. A flurry of tests revealed the source of those symptoms. Not diabetes. An inoperable brain tumor.

Milo has been diagnosed with a craniopharyngioma, a rare type of benign tumor that affects approximately 1-2 out of every one million children. Having grown inside his pituitary gland and into his hypothalamus, Milo was left with diabetes insipidus, adrenal insufficiency, and hypothyroidism. This is a battle he will fight for a lifetime. Our hope is that with radiation treatments to keep the tumor at bay, careful, close monitoring, and hormone replacement therapy, he will go on to live a long, full life.

Milo and his brothers are gentle, creative souls. Their parents are some of the most generous humans you could hope to meet. Now it is our chance to show them the same sweetness and generosity. Any donation, no matter how small will help to alleviate the stress of the necessary travel, medical expenses, and lost wages that this new reality will bring.
