Who We Are
We, the UP BSID Class of 2020, are a group comprised of graduating students. This year, 11 individuals with distinct backgrounds have come together to pursue the capstone project, ID 179 Special Project in the Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program in the University of the Philippines Diliman. We are motivated by sensory design in promoting a child’s development through an encouraging and nurturing environment.
Our Beneficiary
The Kalinga Day Care Center (KDCC) is a non-formal, non-structured alternative learning environment meant to provide a comfortable and safe environment for children ages 1.6 to 5.5 years old. Their goals are to meet the developmental needs of children in a gender-fair and peaceful environment, and to promote positive self-concept in children.
They offer day care services, classes, and recreational activities for the children to actively practice and refine their abilities, use their senses, and solve problems and interact in a stimulating environment.
The learning environment of KDCC can be found in Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines.
Mission
The UP BSID Class of 2020 is devoted to uplifting spaces that nurture the physical, emotional, psychological cultivation through stimulating and nurturing design. The design team is dedicated to understanding how the physical environment plays a vital role in the holistic development of child growth.
Vision
We envision stimulating and encouraging spaces that will contribute to the enrichment of the children’s education, culminating a stronger foundation for a brighter future.
