Please take time and read this until the end. This matter is really important to us (Alexis, Yessi, Angeline & Rayane)
Currently, we are EVS volunteers in Moldova, working at two different animal shelters and we want to start thisfundraiser because the animal welfare situation is terrible in this country.
Stray dogs are a huge "problem" in Moldova. A big part of the population does not care about the well-being of animals and the government does not seem to be interested in making any effort to deal with this issue.
Instead, the stray animals are being considered as useless trash. Most stray dogs will be brought to the necropolis, where they will be killed by poison or be skinned when they're still alive.
That is the sad reality of how animals are treated in Moldova.
But there is hope. People take care of them in our shelters, save them from being abused and killed at the necropolis and try to find new loving homes for them,
against the pressure of the neighbourhood and the obstacles created by the government.
This is why we call on you! Our shelters depend on donations. We do not receive support from the government.
We need money to:
- Pay the rent
- Buy food and medication for our animals
- Buy additional supplies to keep them warm in winter.
For 77 Moldovan Lei (= 4 EUR) we can feed a dog an entire month.
For 175 Moldovan Lei (= 9 EUR) we can feed and take care of one dog for one entire month and for 244 Moldovan Lei (= 12,60 EUR) we can ensure the long term sustainability of the shelter and make sure that the dog will live in a safe, warm environment and has access to all the resources he needs (health care, vaccinations, sterilizations, a warm place to sleep, etc.).
As you can see, even a small amount of 5 EUR will help us enormously!
We would be thankful for any donation, it doesn't matter how small. We can send you pictures of our shelters and our lovely animals on a regular basis!
Thank you so much in advance! <3
