Hello Family and Friends!

Our mother, Milagros Mina, is battling with Cancer. Last year 2019, she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and had undergone operation to have her reproductive organs remove. It was a successful operation but earlier this year her abdomen started to get bigger and we found out that there's a new lump on her abdomen which caused her abdomen to be filled with fluid. She had a "pigtail" on her side to drain the fluid on her abdomen (they usually drain 3 liters of abdominal fluid everyday). She started her Chemo Treatment at San Juan De Dios Hospital in Pasay City last January 2020 as per doctor's order. But as you know, there was a rise in COVID cases in Metro Manila last March 2020 which urged the government to impose Community Quarantine up until this day. This was a huge struggle for her but also to our family in choosing to have her go in the hospital and risking her to contract COVID or to stay at home. We tried to contact the hospital for her Chemo Treatment appointment during the quarantine but we couldn't get through. She had missed 2 chemo treatment because of this quarantine.

As of writing, our mother is at the hospital since June 2, 2020 (Tuesday) to resume her Chemo Treatment. She was very weak when we sent her to the hospital. She underwent blood transfusion and CT Scan where they found out that there is a cyst in her kidney. The doctor said that she might need 6 or more sessions of Chemo which is about PHP 20,000.00 per session.

For those who doesn't know our mother very well, she is a real fighter and we owe it to her that we were able to get our college degrees. Cancer treatment is very expensive in the Philippines and our family is not wealthy so we setup this fundraising for our mom to help with her treatment expenses.
