For Our Students’ Project

Please help us fullfill our students' dream

We are the teachers of an upper secondary public school in Edessa Greece. 1st Geniko Lykeio Edessas "Nikolaos Oikonomidis". http://1lyk-edess.pel.sch.gr/. We are a school carrying out many international and European projects. We constantly try to provide to our students the best opportunities for their own education and at the same time to keep their minds and hearts open to the world. Our students' parents used to be very helpful and encouraged our efforts. However, because of their own hardships under the current crisis in our country which makes each of their days difficult to live, they are unable to help us anymore.

Since the start of last school year, we have been working on an extremely interesting collaborative project with another public school in Sant Pere de Ribes, Spain. The subject of our common project concerns the identification and study of the current social situation in Greece and Spain with the help of the recent European films and songs. The students are identifying the current social problems in Greece and Spain through their own observation and with the help of the recent European films and songs production. They are studying their causes and the sequences. Eventually the students will find ways to act against the identified problems, using cinema and songs as a mean for their cause and using the digital ttechnology too.

However, from our experience we know that the most important aspect of those projects is the students to meet in person through an organized exchange, which we are trying to organize to be carried out next spring.

Our plan is that 20 students from our school to travel to Sant Pere de Ribes in Spain and in our turn, to host 20 Spanish students with 2 of their teachers in Edessa, Greece.

For that cause, we need the help from the people in the world who believe in that educating the youngsters will help better days to come to our world.

Even one Euro, will make a difference in those kids' lives.

Βοηθήστε να πραγματοποιηθεί το όνειρο των παιδιών

Το σχολείο μας, 1ο Γενικό Λύκειο Έδεσσας, συνεργάζεται σε ένα κοινό εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα με ένα σχολείο στην πόλη San Pere de Ribes της Ισπανίας. Το περιεχόμενο του προγράμματος είναι η μελέτη της τωρινής κοινωνικής κατάστασης στην Ελλάδα και την Ισπανία με αφετηρία τον πρόσφατο ελληνικό και ισπανικό κινηματογράφο. Οι μαθητές παρακολουθούν ταινίες με κοινωνικό και πολιτικό προσανατολισμό, αναγνωρίζουν τα οικονομικά και κοινωνικά προβλήματα μέσα από την οπτική των ταινιών, τα ταυτοποιούν, τα παρατηρούν στην πραγματική ζωή, μελετούν τις ιστορικές αιτίες και τις συνέπειές τους. Τέλος, όσο μπορούν, αναλαμβάνουν δράση.

Το μεγαλύτερο κίνητρο και ανταμοιβή για τα παιδιά, καθώς και μια από τις σημαντικότερες εμπειρίες της ζωής τους θα είναι να καταφέρουν να συναντηθούν οι δύο ομάδες με την οργάνωση μιας ανταλλαγής. 20 μαθητές μας θα ταξιδέψουν στην Ισπανία και 20 Ισπανοί μαθητές θα φιλοξενηθούν στην Έδεσσα.

Πιστεύουμε ότι η εκπαίδευση πρέπει να δίνει ευκαιρίες στα παιδιά μας να αποκτήσουν κοινωνικές και συναισθηματικές εμπειρίες που ανταποκρίνονται στη δυναμική των καιρών και απαντούν στις προκλήσεις της εποχής μας.

Να έρθουν σε άμεση επαφή με διαφορετικούς πολιτισμούς και γλώσσες είναι μια απ' αυτές. Η εμπειρία μιας ανταλλαγής είναι ένα από τα πιο συγκλονιστικά βιώματα των μαθητών μας και την κουβαλούν μέσα τους σ’ όλη την ενήλικη ζωή τους.

Όμως οι καιροί είναι δύσκολοι πια και οι γονείς των παιδιών δεν μπορούν να ανταπεξέλθουν οικονομικά σ' ένα τέτοιο εγχείρημα.

Ζητάμε λοιπόν τη βοήθεια όλων όσων πιστεύουν ότι η εκπαίδευση γενικότερα και τέτοιου είδους δράσεις ειδικότερα θα βοηθήσουν να δει ο κόσμος μας καλύτερες μέρες.

Ακόμη κι ένα ευρώ, είναι σημαντικό για τη ζωή αυτών των παιδιών.
