Just This July, My sister had an operation. a biopsy to remove a tumor which is sticking on her bladder. The operation was a success and the tumor was removed and we waited for the result.
A week passed by and the result came out. It was a malignant tumor which confirmed our speculation that it was indeed cancer. We talked to her doctor as to what are our options for continuous treatment and the option initially they have give us is to do another operation to have her bladder removed and replace it with part of her intestine to serve as her new bladder.
It sounded simple but when asked for the quote it costs as much as 500K. (Philippine Peso)
Our family is shocked considering we dont know where to get such amount of money in a short amount of time. My parents are retired and still waiting for their pension for a year and we can't afford to knowing that every second counts when it comes to my sister's condition.
We have asked help from a lot of people, approached all organizations that may be of help but we haven't had any real lead that we can hold on to that is why I am reaching out to our company if I ask for help for my sister.
Before this condition she already had Psoriasis that she had since 2010 and a previous operation to remove gall stones.
After going through chemotherapy, there was some progress where 3mm was removed from her tumor... After a few sessions, the spread was controlled but the tumor became big.
My sister now needs a stronger dose for her chemo and 2 vials costs too much.
