For My Fighting Brother; For Giving is Loving

This Pandemic is testing us, but how much more those person who are fighting for their sickness in this time that everything is limited, this really broke my heart, but I know God is with us, please give us your little time for sharing this campaign I made with my heart.

For giving is loving that is why I am doing this campaign for my fighting brother Ernesto Rodriguez Jr, who was undergoing dialysis treatment at the age of 21. He was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 4 last February 2014, and until now he is battling with this very expensive condition with his strong faith. It is never been easy to have any kind of disease at a young age and with a family with no financial capacity that is why I am so proud of my brother that even though he was at this stage of his life for almost six years he is doing his best to survive.

He was advised by his doctor in National Kidney and Transplant Institute to have dialysis treatment thrice a week but since it is very expensive in the Philippines, my brother is having his dialysis treatment twice a week only. Aside from the treatment there are too many laboratories, medicines, injections and check ups he need. His both kidneys are not functioning anymore and we was given option to have kidney transplant but it is much more costly and we do not have that financial to have that operation, and my brother is not into transplant anymore as he don't want us to suffer for that big financial burden (as he say) because not all transplant are successful, sometimes even you have undergone kidney transplant you will still go back to dialysis treatment, and he always say that he is happy because God already extended his life.

He always go to his dialysis by himself, even it takes long hour of travel, he says that he can go alone, he don't want us to see him not OK, he is a very strong person for me. Every offices like PCSO, Malacanang, Senates Offices and other government offices which give financial and medical support he was there by himself, sometimes he even travel at night then will be back the other day because of the long queue.

Now that our father Ernesto Rodriguez Sr, a diabetes patient having insulin for medication and who was a tricycle driver for so long just got an accident last December 2018 which caused his left leg to be broken. And not just a year has passed my mother who was taking care of everyone in our house just passed away. I still can't believed that all of this is happening, my mother, our superwoman, my father's partner in life is now with our Almighty God. And my eldest sister is also taking medications for diabetes and mental health due to depression.
