For My Mother’s Hospitalization bills and Therapy

Over the past few months, COVID-19 causes us a huge problem not just here in the Philippines but all of us over the world. And like any other families, our family too has experienced struggles over this last few months since COVID-19 has been spread here in the PH.

Just last September 2020, my parents and my siblings tested positive in COVID-19 and they were feeling the symptoms over 2 weeks. And now, my family faces another struggle as my mother, Analiza De Guzman, 59 years old, has been diagnosed with Stroke due to hypertension. On Saturday, May 22, 2021, my mother felt dizzy and feels the symptoms of hypertension. She wasn’t able to move her arm and can’t walk and suddenly cry out of pain. She then rushed to nearest public hospital and was attended by emergency team of the hospital here in Mandaluyong City. But since there’s a COVID breakout, there were no rooms available for her to be admitted and wasn’t able to get a room so she was placed outside, underneath the heat of the sun battling the pain she was experiencing. We did a CT scan on the day she was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, we have to wait for few days since there were no doctors that can attend her condition even though it was an emergency and needs medical attention ASAP. So we tried to look for a hospital that can check on her and affter 1 day of waiting and looking for an available hospital, we were able to transfer her to a private hospital in Quezon City. Then we confirmed that it’s a stroke and she was attended by health care works with proper care. The doctor put an NGT for her to eat because my mother can’t swallow properly, she wasn’t able to use her right part of the body and can’t talk properly also.

But thank God, after 3 days of being hospitalized, she can now able to talk in sentence, the NGT was removed and can move her arms freely. But as she progresses with her condition, we fear that this might be the start of further expenses as we will be needing an additional amount for us to cover the current hospitalization bills, medicines, and therapy.

We are reaching out to those people with big heart to help us cover the amount we needed in medical expenses and continue the progress we made in recovery of my mother. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. We also ask to include my mother’s speedy recovery through your prayers.
