For my Mama

My mama was primarily diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer after her TAH-BSO surgery last July 29, 2019. After we got the biopsy result the doctor found out that the cancer source came from her colon. So she ordered staining to confirm where it really came from. We had to have it done in Manila because neither Iligan and CDO has an available service and it was confirmed, Colon Adenocarcinoma St IV w/ Peritoneal Metastases.

But the fight has really tested us as my brother and papa had to rush mama to the hospital 3 times due to severe pain, vomiting, and dehydration.

The other day, the family gathered (me via phone call conference, since I'm in Manila) by the Onco dr. and she explained mama's status. It was heartbreaking to hear how hope is fading for her, biologically. She couldn't start chemo because her body is weak and already bleeding which shows on her colostomy discharge. But still, God is really good because they're seeing coping signs. Her hematology report shows progress and she's not anymore dehydrated. We are hoping she can build back her strength to prepare her for chemo.

Everybody is doing their best to gather as much money for the medical expenses but still came out short. We even tried going to the local government and charities for additional help and they did provide assistance. For now, we are exhausting all available resources to comply with the medical expenses which are challenging us right now. My papa's health coverage for her isn't enough anymore for the several times she was brought to the hospital and not to mention the first time this happened that consumed a lot from the major operation and care.

I decided to create this page to reach out to anyone who has a kind heart to help us. This is because the only hope the Doctor has seen from mama is that she's in denial. She's not accepting her status now, which we find good because she is still fighting. So we want to give that to her and hopefully, you can extend your support.

My Mama still wants more time for us. We haven't been together as a whole family for a very long time. She still has some things she wants to accomplish. We are all relying on God's grace and mercy to guide us to people that he could use as a channel of blessing.

My apologies if there are lapses on my post as I have not been physically for her when this started but through regular updates sent by my brother only.
