We are asking for your kind prayers and help.
We have been on this unexpected journey with our Mommy Dodie for more than a year now.
In 2018, she started losing her hearing but except for having that treated, was her usual self. Healthy and strong and young for her age of 59 at the time. But before Christmas that year she suffered a stroke and test results came back to show she had a bump/tumor in her brain which was causing it to swell and retain water. This is called Acoustic Schwannoma.
She went through many tests, a shunt operation, had to also deal with treatment for tuberculosis, re-operate on her shunt, went to physical therapy and reschedule her major brain surgery til February this year.
But after New Year just when she was clear from tuberculosis she got pneumonia. She was taking medicine to treat it when we had to rush her to the hospital yesterday, January 12, 2020, because she suddenly lost conciousness and will not respond to anything. The doctors said she suffered a mild heart attack and while she is now awake, must still be confined at the ICU of FEU NRMF for monitoring.
She is a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend to a lot of people. Always ready to talk and brimming with enthusiasm.

April 13 Update

Her ventilator is now on the lowest possible setting and her Pulmonologist has advised us they will try to wean her from it slowly for 7 days. Today is her 5th day. Unfortunately, her recent xray showed liquid in her lungs
March 24 Update
Update posted by Emprecita Elgarico at 12:30 amMommy Dodie is conscious and can now react by waving her right hand or giving a thumbs up. The doctors adjusted her ventilator to 40% and they’re continuing with the antibiotics for her lungs. We were advised it will be better for her to undergo a tracheostomy. But she doesn’t. . . . .

Update posted by Emprecita Elgarico at 02:33 amJust when we thought she’ll have her operation by April as long as she stays well and get stronger, Mommy Dodie was rushed to the ER last Sunday because she was unresponsive with very high fever. The doctors said it was caused by aspiration pneumonia. Her blood pressure was below. . . . .
Feb 19 Update

Her neurologist is hoping to proceed with the operation by March but the exact date is still pending because she still needs
January 31 Update

Doctos said she is well enough to continue oral medication at home. We continue to hope for her to

Update posted by Emprecita Elgarico at 01:23 pmDay 8 of Mommy Dodie’s anti-biotics and we are crossing our fingers she will be discharged before her birthday on January 31st! We were advised by her neurologist to have her rest and recuperate at home first before going back for her check-up with the test results. We’ll then know

However, the doctor said we will need to extend confinement to 5-7 days more because they have to change her medication as the oral meds she’s been taking isn’t addressing her pulmonary problems.We

The doctors said she might need to stay confined for at least 7 days until they clear her from
