Campaign Story
Hi I am Mikee! I am a female cocker spaniel who has been giving joy to
my daddy and mummy for 9 years. Recently, I was confused why my mum
made me wear a diaper. She said I have been staining our white floors
with red. I thought I was just on my period and I try to reason with
her by not eating my food (although secretly I am still drinking water).
Three days into my rebellious state, my parents became worried because
it appears my tummy is getting huge even if I am not eating. I started
to worry too because I don't like to play ball with them anymore (even the old smelly tennis ball which I love love love! )
So the trip to the vet confirmed that I have Pyometra.
I was not spayed when I was young and now I have a uterine infection
and I might die of internal infection. I need to undergo surgery
according to the nice lady in the clinic (except she punctured me with
that needle) and she lists down items from pre-surgery diagnostics of my organs
to post -surgery care. This ballooned the bill to over 2000 dollars
just to rid me of the nasty infection.
It is a hefty price for a complex procedure and my
parents just couldn't afford it just as much as they could not afford to
lose me.
Please help me. I am currently on antibiotics and
should be preparing for my surgery in five days. I promise after my
surgery I will start eating and playing ball again.
I know I am not meant to live as long as my parents .. but every year with them will definitely count. Thank you for making me live longer :)

Thank you so much for your generosity. This is a tough lesson for us.. we didn’t realize the importance of spaying until Mikee’s condition. A $200 spay was now priced at a $2,000 life or death investment.. With this raiser we also hope to get fur parents to be aware of this condition and hopefully not face the same fate as ours.
