A Wish For My Mom On My BDay

If there is anything I have learned to appreciate more through this global pandemic, it's good health. On top of dealing with COVID-19, unemployment, this lockdown and the uncertainty this all entails, my mama, Sally Tumulak, who is 74 years old was admitted to ARC hospital last May 18 because of pneumonia. She had fever for 3 days and because of COVID-19, we tried to wait it out but when the fever did not go down, we brought her to the hospital. She has also been bed-ridden for almost 3 years now because of fractured hip bone. She can’t walk and have been confined to her bed/chair for a long time. She was always active and this was such a great challenge for her. But because of her quiet strength and resilience, I have also been able to deal with it all.

For my birthday, my only wish is that she get through this okay, she recovers and we go home safe and healthy. She was tested NEGATIVE from COVID-19. As you can imagine, the hospital bill have been piling up and my family and I have already depleted our savings. We need to pay Php25,000 almost everyday as deposit for her lab tests, medicines and other hospital fees. I really do not know where to turn to anymore. Thankfully, she was discharged from the hospital last May 26, but she needs to continue her IV antibiotics at home, which is very expensive, along with the other prescribed medicines. I am hoping, if you have extra to spare, if you can help us in any way.
