Hi everyone.

Our cat Kuba got sick of FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Drugs and treatment are very expensive. We want to save Kuba’s life, but we need Your help. We will be grateful for each donation.

We took Kuba (then he had name Micius, but we renamed to Kuba) from cat shelter 3 years ago. Kuba had broken leg so he underwent surgery and lived in shelter for 2 months. When I saw Kuba’s photo on shelter’s website I couldn’t resist to bring him to our home. I already knew how strong I will love him. During this 3 years Kuba was making us happy and was happy being with us.

3 months ago we noticed that Kuba is sad, he didn’t play, almost all time slept. We bring him to the vet. Kuba had high temperature, but blood test didn’t show anything bad. There was other tests which was made for the second arrival to the vet. Test showed positive FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) and FCoV (feline coronavirus) but no one said anything about FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). After few days Kuba felt very bad. We noticed that cat has accumulated fluid in abdominal cavity. We bring him to other veterinary clinic where was said that our cat has FIP. To be sure for 100% we sent blood to laboratory in Germany to test it for virus. Answer was positive.

We were directed to shelter where is trying to cure FIP. There was said that they are using drugs which is unregistered in most of world, so it is difficult to get the drugs and it is very expensive. We already knew we don’t have that amount of money but we couldn’t refuse the treatment, so we started treatment to debt. Now we have debts which we must pay up. Also treatment isn't finished yet, so sum of costs will rise.

One vial of drug (GS-441524) costs 80€, that is enough for 3 days. Treatment lasts for 3 months at best. It means that Kuba needs 30 vials of GS-441524. Besides that vet control and blood tests also cost very much – one visit about 80-100€. We had already 7 visits and will have few more at best.

Blood test on 84th day of treatment

Update posted by Valentinas Semaško at 06:59 am

Today's blood test still shows low WBC and neutrophils. Veterinarian said that low readings can be caused by tooth inflammation. She gave us anti-bacterial tooth paste and said that we can stop treat with GS.
