In lieu of flowers, the family has setup this page for Kaity in remembrance of Jocelyn Gooding Smith.

Jocelyn was a vibrant, funny and God fearing woman who loved the Lord! She succumbed to cancer on April 2, 2018. She made this transition leaving her husband and 6 year old daughter, Kaity. Jocelyn was full of life and love.

In the short time that she was here, she fulfilled so many of her aspirations and dreams. As a college graduate, line-sister (AKA), educator, mentor, actress, singer, prayer warrior, missionary and minister of the gospel, she was able to inspire so many along the way. Jocelyn believed in living in God's life purpose.

If you knew Jocelyn personally, you would know that there was one thing that was most important to her right after her love for Christ and that was FAMILY! She loved family gatherings, games and laughter. Many of her family and friends have experienced this type of fellowship with her and how she loved to absorb the delicious taste of her favorite foods. Yes, she was the life of the party! However, she had a serious loving side about her as well.

On December 11, 2004, God blessed her with her 'hero' as she called him, Curtis Smith, II; a loving husband who was by her side for 14 years in every way imaginable and throughout her sickness. During this time, Kaity was born! After finally having a successful pregnancy, Jocelyn declared, "He's a miracle working God!!!" Often she referred to Kaity as the miracle child or the child who saved her life. You see, if it was not for Kaity, Jocelyn's cancer would have been found much later and precious years could have been taken away. But, God! He allowed Jocelyn to spend the 1st six years of Kaity's life with her and re-affirm her marriage to her beloved husband on September 10, 2016.

From birth, Kaity was given LOve, support, and biblical teaching. Jocelyn gave Kaity everything a mom could give and more during her life span. As her family, we are praying that God will wrap His loving arms around Kaity, give her loving memories, peace that surpasses all understanding, comfort and equip her with all of what Jocelyn has poured into her in honor of her mom.

Kaity, we know that a major part of your heart will be missing but know that you are LOved by many and we are here for you.
