Typhoon Odette has destructed not only properties but lives and livelihoods. A very unfortunate event in the lives especially of the locals and tourists who are very in love and who fell in love with General Luna and the entire Island of Siargao. The Island known for its tourists spots is now seemingly an island of hopelessness and distress. But giving up will never dwell in the hearts and minds of every Siargaonon.
December 16, 2021 is the time where we will all remember how painful it is to see a destructed paradise loved not only by the Filipino people but by the whole world. The Surfing Capital of the Philippines and the happiness we bring to the world as the number one tourist destination NOW PLEADS AND CRIES FOR THE WHOLE WORLD AS WE EXPRESS OUR DIRE NEED FOR HELP.
In the midst of darkness, we never lost our faith. In hopelessness, we did not give up hope. In suffering, we kept believing that God is still loving. In all that we lost, we smile because lives was spared at most.
We appeal to the National Government, PLEASE HELP US!
We appeal to the International Community, PLEASE HELP US.
We appeal to the Humanitarian Community, PLEASE HELP US!
We are begging for help because we cannot do it on our own. Everyone and everything has been affected by a natural calamity we thought we were ready to face.
A spark of hope, to alleviate the suffering of our people, is what we ALL are praying for. We hold on to the principles of humanity that none of you will ever let us down.
Our loss may be insurmountable, but our hope and faith is immeasureable.
We thank all those who prayed for us. We thank all those who helped and are helping us. Our gratitude to everyone.
Our usual appeal for you to visit us, now becomes an appeal for help and humanitarian aid.
THANK YOU, SALAMAT KARAJAW... SEE YOU IN GENERAL LUNA, SEE YOU IN SIARGAO ISLAND. 🙏
