For Baby Kalem’s Liver transplant funds

Kalem Asher Rubio Lizada was born on June 19, 2016 weighing 3.1 kilograms via Normal delivery. His newborn screening results found out that he has GLUCOSE-6-PHOSPHATE DEHYDROGENASE or G6PD deficiency. When he is 2 months old, we brought kalem to the pedia and the pedia told us that the yellowing of his skin is not normal, we thought that exposing him to sunlight can help his skin go back to normal, but it don't. Lab tests and ultrasound has done, the ultrasound results revealed that his liver is normal in size however his gallbladder is contracted. Lab test results revealed that he is BREASTMILK JAUNDICE because of the high indirect bilirubin levels, so I stopped breastfeeding him. After 2 weeks of observation, the pedia referred us to Pedia Gastroenterology to get kalem checked. Pedia GI said that Kalem has to undergo liver biopsy to know what is the reason why he is jaundicing. Kalem has to undergo the pain and agony of needles again. We went to Pgh, to Dra. Gregorio for the liver biopsy procedure. 1 week after being admitted, Dra. Gregorio had the results already and the final diagnosis is "BILIARY CIRRHOSIS" which Liver transplant is the only way to save his life.

We, the parents of Kalem Asher Lizada are knocking on the doors of your generous heart to please help Baby Kalem to raise funds for his operation. Kalem Asher is in need of Liver transplant as soon as possible, necessarily before he turns 1 year old.

We are fully aware that it is not easy to come up with the much needed funds for Kalem's operation. The operation alone will cost 3-4 million pesos.
