The aftermath of the horrific earthquake measuring 5.5 on Richter scale – the most severe one in the last 140 years -which occurred in Zagreb on March 22nd 2020 has left many in a very difficult situation. With much of the housing being damaged and unsafe to live in, the people of Zagreb have been forced to relocate to temporary accommodation in Cvjetno naselje students` dorm. Besides the aftermath of the earthquake, we are also facing the coronavirus pandemic and the weather suddenly turning quite cold and snowy, which has made the situation even more difficult and precarious. Many have lost their jobs and are struggling to survive.
WHO STARTED THIS CAMPAIGN
The social enterprise PUTEM OAZAe d.o.o. za usluge with their restauran OAZA Joyful Kitchen has started a campaign called “Zagreb Earthquake - Food for Life“. Through this campaign, the members of the social enterprise want to encourage the community and join forces to help the ones who need it most in this very difficult situation.
THE AIM OF THE CAMPAIGN
By donating to the giro account, the donors will cover the expenses for food preparation (groceries, utilities and delivery) while the cooks and staff of the restaurant will work on a voluntary basis. In this way, by the donors` help, OAZA Joyful Kitchen wants to provide healthy and nutritious food, minimum a hundred full meals a day, for the people who need it most in Zagreb area during the next two months. By preparing hot meals the OAZA Joyful Kitchen restaurant wants to show solidarity with those who find themselves in a difficult situation and make their lives easier.
The whole campaign will be done under supervision from an accounting company so that financial transparency can be ensured. After the campaign ends, a financial report will be written and made available on the website of the restaurant.
- WHAT WE WILL SPEND THE DONATIONS ON
Groceries, packaging, utilities and delivery (fuel cost). The staff will volunteer!
- HOW WE WILL FIND THOSE IN NEED
We will make an appeal in the media and directly collect the information about those who need the food the most via NGOs which provide social assistance. Besides, all who are in a difficult situation can apply via this link:

- HOW WE WILL PREPARE AND DISTRIBUTE THE MEALS
The meals are prepared and packed by the cooks of OAZA Joyful Kitchen restaurant according to directions issued by The Croatian Bureau of Public Health Dr. Andrija Štampar, and the rest of the restaurant staff delivers the food according to the same sanitary standards.
WHO IS BEHIND THIS INITIATIVE
PUTEM OAZAe d.o.o. social enterprise has a goal of helping society and promoting social entrepeneurship emphasized in its founding document. The social enterprise was founded by NGO O.A.Z..A. – Održiva Alternativa Zajednici (Sustainable Alternative to Community), which has been active for the last seven years in Croatia, promoting sustainable development and educating youth and children.
Also, Filip, Dubravka, Kristijan, Mihovil and Andrej have joined the campaign.

Zagreb Earthquake - Food for Life - OAZA Joyful Kitchen donira BESPLATNU hranu
Zbog posljedica potresa magnitude 5,5 po Richteru koji je pogodio Zagreb 22. ožujka 2020.– najvećeg potresa u zadnjih 140 godina – mnogi njegovi stanovnici ostali su u teškoj situaciji. Oštećeni i nesigurni za stanovanje stambeni objekti primorali su Zagrepčane da se premjeste u privremeni smještaj u studentskom domu Cvjetno naselje. Osim posljedica potresa, suočavamo se i s pandemijom koronavirusa te zahlađenjem i snijegom što još otežava nepovoljnu i neizvjesnu situaciju. Mnoge su osobe ostale bez posla te se nalaze na rubu egzistencije.
TKO SU POKRETAČI KAMPANJE
Društveno poduzeće PUTEM OAZAe d.o.o. za usluge sa svojim restoranom OAZA Joyful Kitchen pokrenulo je kampanju “Zagreb Earthquake - Food for Life”. Ovime članovi društvenog poduzeća žele potaknuti zajednicu i udružiti snage kako bi pomogli potrebitima u ovoj iznimno teškoj situaciji.
CILJ KAMPANJE
Uplatom donacije na žiro račun donatori će financirati sirovine za pripremu hrane (namirnice, troškove režija i dostave), dok će osoblje i kuhari restorana hranu pripremati volonterski. Na taj način, uz pomoć donatora, restoran OAZA Joyful Kitchen želi osigurati vegansku, zdravu i nutritivnu hranu u količini od minimalno 100 cjelovitih obroka dnevno onima na području Zagreba kojima je to najpotrebnije kroz sljedeća dva mjeseca.
Kuhanjem toplih obroka restoran OAZA Joyful Kitchen želi pokazati solidarnost s osobama koje su se našle u teškoj situaciji i olakšati im život.
Cijela kampanja bit će provedena pod nadzorom računovodstvene tvrtke s ciljem osiguravanja financijske transparentnosti, a po završetku akcije izradit će se financijski izvještaj koji će biti dostupan na web stranici restorana.

Objavit ćemo apel u medijima, a preko udruga koje se bave socijalnom pomoći direktno ćemo skupljati informacije o tome kome su obroci najpotrebniji. Osim toga, svi koji se nalaze u teškoj situaciji mogu se prijaviti putem ovoga linka:

- KAKO ĆEMO PRIPREMATI I DIJELITI OBROKE
Obroke pripremaju i pakiraju kuhari restorana OAZA Joyful Kitchen prema uputama HZJZ Dr. Andrija Štampar, a ostalo osoblje restorana dostavlja hranu prema istim higijenskim standardima.
TKO STOJI IZA OVE INICIJATIVE
Društveno poduzeće PUTEM OAZAe d.o.o. u svojim osnivačkim aktima ima cilj pomagati društvu i promovirati društveno poduzetništvo. Poduzeće je osnovala neprofitna Udruga O.A.ZA – Održiva Alternativa ZAjednici koja već 7 godina djeluje u Republici Hrvatskoj promovirajući održivi razvoj i educirajući mlade i djecu.
Uz to su se u kampanju uključili i: Filip, Dubravka, Kristijan, Mihovil i Andrej.
