Campaign Story
My name is Roy Mutai and am doing farming in rural Kenya. Where I farm is a place called Makindu in Makueni county. This place is found on the lower eastern part of Kenya and receives scanty rainfall and therefore prone to prolonged droughts which leads to famine over time. I do irrigation and have employed 2 permanent employees and occasionally hire casual labor depending on the amount of work. I have managed to farm 2 acres and I wanted to do 7 acres of kales, Spinach and tomatoes. To run the farm is very capital intensive and I would like to appeal to anybody out there to help fund the project because it is creating employment through the supply chain and help food secure a region that has to rely on relief food if drought is prolonged. Warm regards and thank you in advance.
