Campaign Story
- We are a community grassroots organisation that works to tackle child homelessness resulting from a domestic violence situation. Our focus is on addressing the emotional impacts of domestic violence on a child and highlighting the correlation that this has with homelessness and possible subsequent substance misuse and poor school performance.
Streethands is NOT a faith based organisation however we are strong advocators of community outreach work as we feel that the best way to engage the community is by active participation, open dialogue and by working with all faith groups and all diversities in order to tackle social issues.
We believe that together we are stronger.
We have partnered with Namdhari Sikh Sangat UK (Forest Gate Gurdwara( to deliver hot food, hygiene kits and shower facilities to homeless and vulnerable people as part of their "langar" tradition. As part of the Sikh faith a "langar" is where free food is served to all regardless of religion or caste as a gesture of equality.
Up until this point we have largely financed outreach projects ourselves however in order to make our current partnership sustainable and regular, we need your help.
Please donate as much as you can so we can continue to make a difference and make this worthy partnership permanent and be able to provide a sustainabe source of support for homeless/vulnerable people from all walks of life.
We will use your money to pay for food, gas and hygiene kits. You may come along and visit us at the project too :)
