This is a pigeon living on a street. We call him a handsome boy!

I met this guy 2 years ago feeding other young pigeons through my window. He had a limp and that attracted my attention. I know that a pigeon's fractures are healed quite fast, for 2-3 weeks, so I started to feed him every day, hoping that he will get well fast. However, one day I noticed that there is also some kind of bump near his beak of unknown origin. So, one morning he flew to my window, and the bump had gone, but this resulted that his beak became crooked. We managed to catch him and took him to the vet, and it appeared to be a Pigeon pox virus that caused this. The part of the beak bone was gone and nothing could be done.

We took him home and cured him from the virus. We had to feed him manually and didn't know what to do, as we could not keep him as we already had 2 other pigeons living with us, and he was not tame and wanted freedom.

For a month that we cured him, it turned out that he can feed on his own if we put food into a deep jar, so that he could kind of dive his beak into seeds.

After a month of cure, we made a decision to let him free, and to feed him everyday from the window. So, now, he comes back every day for a portion of wheat seeds. We are feeding him for 2 years already, and it seems like he is having a happy pigeons life, and doesn't know that there is a problem with his beak.

We watched him with his pigeons girlfriend, being tender to each other, we saw his babies. He brings them all with him. Overall he is a healthy pigeon and can live a long life, so we just cannot stop feeding him to let him die from starving. Food is all he needs.

The problem now is that for the two years, more and more pigeons are coming with him for food. It is more than 10 birds already.

And I cannot feed only him and not feed others, as he is shy and eat slowly, and other birds are faster. Previously I could buy a box of seeds and this was enough for a week. Now I spend a box for a day.

Moreover, I have to move from this place, so I will no longer be able to feed him and other birds from my balcony, so I will have to come to the place every day and feed him on the ground. As I see it, I will have to distract other pigeons with wheat seeds and put a jar with wheat on the ground for him. And in such a way I suppose even more pigeons will be attracted and more food needed.

This is why I came here for a little help. I would be very grateful to all the donations. Even 1 dollar = 2 boxes of wheat seeds here where we live.

Thank you!
