Campaign Story
Dear Family, Friends and Neighbors,
We at Mama Toucan's have launched a campaign named "Food and Funds Dominical" to support the many families and individuals in Dominical, and surrounding area, that will need assistance with basic needs for the coming months.
The money we raise will primarily go to paying electricity bills, water, medical costs, and in some cases rent for those that truly need it. We will also be holding a Food and Clothing Drive here in Dominical in hopes that we can provide our community with the essentials in a time where many people have lost their jobs and do not have the means to support a sustained quarantine.
Families and individuals will be welcome to reach out to us for support but we are also asking each of you to help us identify people that are really in need and may not have the ability to contact us.
Though the effects of these recent changes have yet to really take place, a proactive response to this issue is imperative. Once savings start running out it is already too late.
Please donate what you can. You are welcome to make donations online here or with cash donations in the Mama Toucan's store in Playa Dominical. Frequent updates will be provided as to how the funds have been used.
If there are any friends in our area that would like to help with this effort please contact us through the Mama Toucan's Facebook page and let us know how you can be of service.

Querida familia, amigos y vecinos:
En Mama Toucan's hemos lanzado una campaña llamada "Food and Funds Dominical" para apoyar a las numerosas familias e individuos en Dominical y sus alrededores que necesitarán ayuda con las necesidades básicas para los próximos meses.
El dinero que recaudamos se destinará principalmente al pago de facturas de electricidad, agua, costos médicos y, en algunos casos, alquiler para aquellos que realmente lo necesitan. También realizaremos una Campaña de Alimentos y Ropa aquí en Dominical con la esperanza de poder proporcionar a nuestra comunidad lo esencial en un momento en que muchas personas han perdido sus empleos y no tienen los medios para apoyar una cuarentena sostenida.
Las familias y las personas serán bienvenidas para contactarnos, pero también les pedimos a cada uno de ustedes que nos ayuden a identificar a las personas que realmente lo necesitan y que muchas no tienen la capacidad de contactarnos.
Aunque los efectos de estos cambios recientes aún no se han producido realmente, es imprescindible una respuesta proactiva a este problema. Una vez que los ahorros comienzan a agotarse, ya es demasiado tarde.

The Struggle Continues

Our weekly bags of food have been helping people withstand the loss of their jobs due to the economic impact of this. . . . .
