Following My Passion

Hi everyone!

I would like to tell you a little about myself before I go into the plans I have for the funds I hope to raise here.

My name is Nikkole. I am a blessed mother of an amazing son, who I would sacrifice anything for. He will be 4 in March, and I have done everything I can to ensure he has had the best life that I could provide for him. I came from a very unstable childhood and refused to expose my son to the things I endured. I have been on my own since I was 16, so I am no stranger to hard work and in my effort to make a better situation for myself and my beautiful family, we relocated to FL, leaving all manner of 'instability' behind. Unfortunately, that has meant setting my dreams aside temporarily. I am currently working to get back on track to follow my dream and what I feel I was meant to do. I want my son to understand that hard work and determination, with some support along the way, can make for a fulfilling life and career.

I have always had an unyielding passion for animals. There is no greater feeling to me than the unconditional love of a loyal pet or the level of appreciation shown by an animal rescued from a dreadful situation. Long-term, I intend to have my own veterinary practice and animal rescue organization. However, this is just a stepping-stone to that dream. I have the opportunity to go back to school to continue my education in the field of veterinary medicine. However, the job that I have had for almost 4 years, that has paid my bills and provided a home and food for my son, will be unable to accommodate a school schedule. While I do enjoy my current job, and am thankful for the last 4 years, it was never meant as a career. Now, at 25 years old, I feel it is time to take a leap of faith, not only in myself, but also in the support of my family and hopefully you, to start my own business in the pet care industry, to start to fulfill my passion, and to allow me the flexibility to start this new journey to reach for my dreams.

This is just to help with start-up costs, mostly because I am on an unavoidably short timeline and would like to get up and running as soon as possible. This business will not make me financially wealthy, but it will allow me to continue providing for my son while I pursue my goals, which is worth far more to me. I am not asking for much, just enough to get off the ground, maybe with a little push from some animal lovers like me, or just people that would genuinely like to see success for a hard working and driven mother.
