While trying to figure out what to do after college, many things came to mind as a possibility. However, going to Uganda was not one of them until last spring. After drenching the possibility in prayer, there was no other option for me. Now, my heart has grown with overflowing love for people whom I have never met before. My spirit is troubled for these beloved women and precious children in Uganda who have undergone atrocities that no human being should ever think possible. I desire to be Jesus’ hands and feet, I am called to offer them wholeness through the only One who can give it to them in full, I want to be an instrument of His peace, and I am commanded from the Lord to “Act justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly with [Him]. (Micah 6:8)”

Zion Project’s purpose

We want to walk alongside these women and children as they heal and start their lives again. We are called to love. To love the poor, the outcast, the unloved. To fight against injustice and to spread peace. So we do it, because we’re supposed to. But also because we were made to. And because we love our jobs. Because every day we get to love on a woman or child and see them grow into a more amazing person, and that is reward enough.”

The ways Zion Project serves

They help survivors of the sex trade industry heal through counseling and discipleship.

They empower them through alternative employment, such as tailoring and jewelry design.

They rescue and protect children at risk of sexual exploitation in their rescue home.

They educate the community in an effort to break the cycle through outreach and prayer.

I encourage you to visit www.zoinproject.org to learn more about the war in Uganda and the different types of outreach Zion is a part of!

Here’s where you come in…

I believe the Heavenly Father sent His Son to be the ultimate sacrifice for the sin that entered the perfect world God created it to be. We are now living in a world that has hope, only because of Jesus Christ. My role in the Gospel is to receive that gracious gift of love and hope, and then to give it to others. For my next season, that looks like traveling to Uganda and sharing it with women and children. The Father will be my strength, provider, comfort and my ultimate compass. However, I cannot be a one-woman-team. I would be honored if you would join me on this journey! I am asking that you would partner with me in accomplishing this goal financially!

This journey will cost roughly $10,000 (if you would like the financial breakdown, please let me know!). I am eager to see how the Lord will provide! I would love to chat with you about any questions you may have regarding Uganda, Zion Project, or my role! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you will join me on this adventure.

“The spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified” (Isaiah 62:1-3)
