Following God’s calling to Hillsong College

Hi! My name is Ruth. I come from Vietnam, a Christian family which has a tradition to serve God. I've been passionately serving Him and walking by faith into the calling of being a worship leader to be an instrument for His kingdom . I feel God's calling on my life is so strong and there is no doubt that diving into a full year of intensive ministry training is where I need to be. A small girl with a big dream which God has put inside her heart becomes stronger and stronger...

MY FAMILY

My father is a Pastor serving at small churches at different cities and provinces. My parents were called by God to run a children shelter in countryside so they were willing to leave the city, sell their own properties and move to countryside to take care of the children who are orphans or come from difficult families (15 children from 3 years old to 17 years old now). They have raised their own children by faith and provision of God. My mother is really an amazing and faithful woman with the gift of faith which I have inherited from her.

MY TESTIMONY

God has changed me amazingly through past 5 years. From a girl who was rebellious, had lived aimlessly, I got to know my true identification, build my values and confidence in God. Almost 3 years ago, God revealed to me about His calling for me to be a worship leader. In the beginning, I had been struggling a lot with the calling because I did not understand why He has chosen me in the position that I am not good at. But I have accepted challenges boldly and seriously and grow so much until now. Besides that have submitted my life to serve Him by serving young students at Sozo which is a ministry to equip difficult and young people www.facebook.com/Sozocafevn

What I have learned from this is that obedience and preparation can open the way for God to do greater things in my life. More and more, God has planted a desire in my heart to be equipped to serve Him more for my country. And I have been convinced by God that He is going to send me somewhere to train me, then go back to Vietnam and serve Him.

WHY HILLSONG ?

The picture and name of Hillsong College in Australia have come to me with strong impression for past three years. , I felt God calling me to leave everything I knew behind to come in studying worship at HIllsong International Leadership College in Sydney, Australia. Hillsong College is a leadership, bible-based college that raises, equips and empowers people from all over the world to serve God and fulfill the calling He has on our lives. It trains us up so that we can go out into the world and serve His people for His kingdom and so we can make a global impact. But back to the reality, I have been struggling again because I know that it takes a lot of money to go to the school. But on the other side, I do believe that God is able, if He wants me to go He will settle everything for me then I decided to apply to the school by faith. Happily, my application was successfully accepted. However, my financial plan is not clear and sufficient since overseas students need to have at least 8,000 – 10,000 AUD saved prior to commencing the application being put forward for review. This amount cover the plane ticket, visa, full overseas health cover, first semester course fees and my first new months living expenses. I do not have enough for theses funds now and I will have to send the school a financial plan closer to October/November 2015. I know it is crazy with me to have enough money to go to the Hill Song School. Everyone outside says it is impossible but I myself believe if this is God’s will, He will pay the bills for me. I trust that I do what I can and the rest is for God.

+ My faith in God grows more and more for my future. I feel much challenged every time of taking another step of faith with God but I know He does care and provide faithfully for all my needs

+ He will give me grace to stand firm while waiting for His works.

I confess that I am so overwhelmed by this reality these days before the course coming. Despite my fear and doubt, God has proved Himself to be a faithful God and Father to me so that I would not be hungry or in debt. And by myself, I cannot do anything for God or for people, even for my family, but I believe as I submit my life to God and let Him lead me, more smiles will shine on the faces and the hearts of people, including of myself and my family. Praise God!
