Please make Karla’s dreams take flight.
Karla Schoonwinkel (19), from South Africa, need funding to become a Commercial Helicopter Pilot. She got her Private Pilot Licence through sheer determination and hard work, but must do the commercial pilot licence in order to work for a salary.
How it all started: After talking to exchange students when she was about 14 years old, her dream was to become one herself. From that time forward, she spend each school holiday working to be able to fund this dream.
When she was 17, she applied to become a Rotary exchange student for 6 weeks. She spend all her savings and earnings to go to Germany. She enjoyed travelling so much that she decided to become an airhostess.
About a month after she returned in 2018, an aviation company visited her school and she immediately made an appointment to find out more about becoming an airhostess. Her enthusiasm, outgoing personality and leadership skills, together with her grades, convinced the spokesperson that she could set her goals higher and encourage her to rather become a pilot.
Immediately she changed her profile picture to: “They say the sky is the limit, but this is just where my dreams starts…”
From that time forward, she worked very hard and dedicated herself to get her pilot licence.
On 22 September 2019, Karla got her Private Pilot License for Helicopter.
Please help her dream come true by either: donating, let her fly your helicopter so that she can clock hours, or if you really want to, then you can also buy her a helicopter. LOL.
