Flood Disaster Relief Fund

To every human with a good heart out there….

This is a pitch about a particular community and the major turnaround that has occurred in the community up to this very moment. This is very difficult for me to do and I really don’t even know how to start. I’ve not always been in the position of seeking from help from public, but this is exactly where I find myself after serval relatives members, our friends and local community people are being affected with non-stop heavy flood disaster events which is a major negative turnaround up to this very moment. The people of this community have been taking all these hits after hits in their community for a very long time now and all hope seems lost, they have actually exhausted all their options now, reaching out to friends and family, and even neighboring communities seems fruitless, they all have one reason or the other not to render help in cash and that’s understandable judging by the ongoing global pandemic. But reaching out to them made us realize the negative effect of keeping things to yourself. We were told that it leads to depression, suicidal thoughts, and mental issues both minor and major. I so much agree with the lots of them, looking at how it affects me as an individual, I’ve really been having these feelings and thoughts after all these started occurring even though I wasn’t the one affected in anyway and it seems as if they have come to stay. So, we decided to adhere to their advice, here we are doing what seems the only way we can get the lives of these people back together. I believe there are compassionate and non-heartless humans out there who are ready to render help and save the life of not just a fellow human, but a whole community at large who are in a trial stage of their lives.

This live changing event happened starting last Friday 17th Dec. 2021. It rained for almost a whole day (24 hours) along with heavy thunderstorm as well non-stop and water level from the popular river in the city ‘River Selangor’ raised and overloaded to the community and caused flood. It destroys properties, wrecks homes and renders people homeless as it does so. Most people in the community are now homeless, they sleep on the streets in the unbearable cold, their children are going hungry as the flood also took away their foodstuffs and even farm produce, they are cloth less as well as they lost their wears to the flood as well. We all believe that shelter is life, if shelter is life and people of this community don’t have roof over their heads, then we say they are living in darkness now.

I am representing my volunteer team to seek any further support from global friendly people who can support and donate for volunteer activities with fundraising that we believe can be helpful, in order to help the flood victims. We already prepared some food, clothes & tools for cleaning for this event but we all know that is still not enough. Hopefully global friendly members can support our fundraising with open heart.

I know this is not how it is supposed to be. Though the saying goes “ no matter how clear the sky is, there are always strands of black particles in it”, but in the case of the of this community, it seems to be the other way round and another thing entirely. I know this is all a test of faith for them, but it is really a very huge and unending one. I am seeking for a very URGENT, LIFE SAVING and EMERGENCY help from the public towards this community. I can not even say you should help them before things get out of hands because in this situation they find themselves, things have long gone out of hands.

I pray that you never be in their shoes at any point in your lives, I hope and pray you are never faced with a bad turn out of events you can’t even escape as this is a natural occurrence, it is a flood. I also pray that all you’ve worked for will not be taken away from you either by flood or anything in particular.

...The worst feeling of being in debt is the constant anticipation of waiting for more bad news to come. The tension doesn't only build up with the phone calls, but also with expecting that at any moment a stranger holding a warranted document could knock on the door and take your life into their own hands. We are trying to avoid this community going through such stressful repetition for not having the funds needed to give them back at once that is why we are reaching out to people to help them at this critical stage of their lives where all hope seems lost.
