flood displacement and zero hunger

In the weeks of covid-19 pandemic,Koredo community has experience a lot of challenges,hence they cannot sustain their livelihood.The pandemic has affected their social-economic activities such as farming,fishing and trading hence their income has stop due to lock down and curfew in the country,this have increase insufficient of food supply and water to the community. During this time the community has been affected by flood due to heavy rainfalls which has swept away all household properties,business premises and destroy all crop on the farms,leaving them homeless in cold weather seeking refuge at raised places and in public schools on the hills,there is fear of outbreak of water borne diseases such as cholera,typhoid,bilharzia and Malaria.

Koredo youth development is anon-profit organization whose focus has been to create awareness to the community about environmental conservation by planting trees and construction of gabions to prevent soil erosion in the community,by training and proving seedlings ,During this weeks of covid-19,the youth group has volunteered to create awareness about the covid-19 to the community,distributing masks and providing soaps,toilets papers,containers and clean water,for washing hands and maintaining high hygiene and sanitation,we also provide tanks to public toilets and latrines,market designated centers to spread the spread of covid-19. The community has been seeking refuge in the raised places due to flood,the youth group has devoted to help in saving lives by using canoes to evacuate the to raise place in school,by providing clean water to them,so not to contract water borne diseases,which we fear can be another blow to the community.As the koredo youth development we are trying to curb the challenges the community is facing ,but due to the large number with less funds .We are seeking a fundraising to manage our activities to the community to continue ,our fundraising goal of $15000.We are asking you to support koredo youth development 's work by giving a donation to our organization,your contribution will support services provided to the community and also in building dams and drainage system to help curb the flood,provide blankets,malaria nets and tents as we try to build homes for them.The youth group tend to use the raised funds to increase our services to the community by;providing masks to the community;distributing soaps,hand washing containers and clean water for washing hand and drinking ;proving food;providing blankets and warm cloths as they are cold places ;construction of dams and drainage systems to curb the flood;providing clean drinking water to them .we tend to continue with our services as we continue raising funds.
