Campaign Story
On Thursday 23rd June 2016, thunderstorms and heavy rain caused the River Rom in Romford Essex to burst its banks. As a result, part of Collier Row was flooded, including Worthington Hall, the weekly home to 2nd Collier Row Beavers, Cubs and Scouts plus Buddies Pre-school
The flooding caused mass devastation to the property and all the equipment that was stored for these young people.
Volunteers have been at the hall everyday since, trying to clean up the mess and salvage whatever they can - although almost everything is ruined.
We are desperately trying to raise money to help pay for the clean-up materials, and pay towards hiring another hall/venue until our hall is repaired.
2nd Collier Row Scout Group is a non-profit organisation. Everyone involved works on a voluntary basis to help young people achieve a sense of team work and community spirit. We are now asking you to help us continue this much loved scouting association.
Please donate to this very worthy cause. No amount too little as all the pennies add up and will help us get back on our feet so that we can continue to enjoy Beavers, Cubs and Scouts once again at 2nd Collier Row.
