Campaign Story
In December 2015 all of our homes on Longworth Road, in Billington flooded and we lost everything. On boxing day morning we woke up to police officers at our door to evacuate us immediately. We barely managed to grab our pets, let alone save any personal items, photos, or anything of sentimental value. Almost 2 years later some of our lovely neighbours are still not back in their homes, even though every single house has been knocked right back to a brick shell and rebuilt from scratch we are still not fully back on our feet. Alongside the ongoing work in our own homes which has already cost us thousands and thousands of pounds we are now faced with the prospect of trying to repair the road and drains which were also damaged substantially due to both the flooding and the huge skips that were sent to take away virtually everything we owned. As this is a private road the responsibility and cost fall on us and most people just don't have the money to help after everything that's happened. The drain and road is going to cost a staggering £65,000 at least. We've managed to raise £35,000 but we've almost exhausted all of our options so now we're asking you to help us reach our goal. Any amount would be so gratefully received to help us get back get there. Thank you so much.
