We started this original idea of full and self serve ice cream shop in Spring of 2014. We were able to purchase a 10 year abandoned diner/ice cream store that needed Much more work than we had originally though upon inspection. The property also had a go kart track and miniature gold area (that had been partially removed). With a HUGE investment and a Ton of hard work we were able to open the store in June of 2014 and Go Kart track shortly after.

The goal for 2015 was to rehabilitate the miniature golf and add bounce houses for the younger family members. So, we started working hard on getting the golf area free of 13 years of overgrowth and replace the areas that had been removed. Well on our way with removal, replacement, and stone delivery - everything has been halted. We did also, purchase a huge blow up slide and obstacle course with thoughts of the younger children.

After a series of events starting early in 2015 including our son coming home on leave from the Army and getting into a nearly fatal crash just 20 minutes before arriving home. This left him in a coma for several days and severe brain trauma. We spent the next few months by his side and we are so happy to say he is now in the warrior transition unit on his base and making huge strides towards recovery at this point. This situation did deplete most of our reserved winter funds with hotel stays, hospital parking passes, eating 3 meals a day at the hospital, and of course the hospital charges for the phone and t.v. use. He also (since he was only traveling lightly for a short visit) required all new clothing throughout his rehabilitation stay at the hospital.

In addition, we had our baby girl 3 weeks early and a few 3rd trimester complications that of course our insurance did not cover for extra testing and such. We have a healthy happy baby girl that we thank the good lord for everyday, in addition to all of our blessings this year! There remains a stack of medical bills that continues to sit unanswered because we can not afford to even set up payment plans.

Back to the store-

On June 11, 2015 we came into work realizing we had over 3 feet of water and mud inside the go kart building , across the track, and over the bounce houses. Thankfully this did not reach the store that is a bit elevated in comparison. When the water receded it left several inched of mud across everything.

We spent several man hours and hired several people to help get this cleaned up. Obviously, people were paid and things were replaced. We had the track back up and running in a few weeks but at a huge price. We have lost the bounce houses due to mud and water damage. A few go kart engines had to be replaced. and a lot of time cleaning mud from the track to allow use. We lost revenue and a lot of money because of this. Our business has yet to recover these losses. At this point we are with our hands tied as every available resource has been utilized.

The insurance company is still reviewing the claim as of September 4, 2015.

We are asking for help to pay the mortgage, property taxes, and bills that we are unable to cover because of the flood investment. Any amount would be greatly appreciated and helpful! Thank you!!
